Overview

Uber Rides Spending Tracker is a Chrome extension that helps users analyze their Uber ride history and spending. This privacy policy explains how the extension handles user data.

Data Collection

The extension collects the following data only from the Uber riders page (riders.uber.com) when the user explicitly clicks "Scan Rides":

Trip destinations
Fare amounts and currency
Trip dates and times
Trip status (completed, cancelled, unfulfilled)
Trip IDs (for deduplication only)

Data Storage

All data is stored locally on the user's device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API.
No data is transmitted to any external server, API, or third party.
No analytics or tracking tools are used.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share any user data with third parties.
We do not use user data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than displaying spending statistics to the user.

Data Deletion

Users can delete all stored data at any time by:

Clicking the "Clear data" button (🗑️) in the extension popup, or
Uninstalling the extension (which automatically removes all stored data).

Permissions

Permission	Purpose
`activeTab`	Communicate with the content script on the active Uber Riders tab
`storage`	Store trip data locally on the device
Host access (`riders.uber.com`)	Read trip information from the ride history page

Changes to This Policy

Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected in an updated version of the extension.
